Craft a visual identity for Vituity’s internal company-wide employee recognition initiative. Adhere to the overarching company brand while celebrating the organization’s unique culture of boldness and brilliance.

I crafted three directions, each concept embodying “brilliance” with a unique visual metaphor. Every concept should complement the overarching company brand.

Ideation

Concept A: Spark

This concept embodies energy, creativity, passion and inspiration. Even a spark of an idea can spread like wildfire, leading to sweeping, transformative change. The mark emulates the overlapping colors within the Vituity flutter, and emanates a vibrant, welcoming warmth.

Concept B: Comet

Comets are a rare celestial phenomenon, believed to be a good omen associated with dreams and aspirations. Comets and stars are often referenced culturally as a beacon of hope and change. Being part of such a brilliant culture is exciting and rare, like sighting a comet or catching lightning in a bottle.

Concept C: Diamond

Forged under pressure to become the hardest known mineral, the diamond represent strength and endurance. The word "diamond" comes from the ancient Greek word adamas, which means "invincible" or "unbreakable". The diamond planes showcase the many facets of brilliance, and how every Vitan is a unique and valuable like a rare gem.


Why Concept C?

  • Emulates the curved geometry of the original logo

  • Utilizes full brand color palette

  • Overlapping planes create dimension and symbolize the multi-faceted nature of Vitans (Vituity employees).

  • The diamond embodies brilliance and resilience

Design + Refine

Visual Identity System

The logo should live in an environment that fits within the umbrella of the parent brand, but is also distinct and recognizable as its own unique initiative.

Refine and Develop a Visual System

Now that we’ve chosen a concept, its time to refine and craft the visual language surrounding the mark. No logo lives in a vacuum! It must complement the parent brand, while maintaining an instantly recognizable identity. Per the client request, we refined the mark with eye-catching details such as sparkles and a subtle glow.
